Spring Assisted Knives Legal in Florida

Does anyone know if it is legal to carry a belt knife on your belt in the town of Gainesville in Alachua County? I never had a problem in FL with a 7″ – 10″ net knife that was carried open or simply thrown on the dashboard. These are cheap knives, very sharp and lightweight. There`s no place in the state that isn`t near water, and police don`t seem to panic when they see one. What they could do with combat knives/fixed blade tactical knives. I was stopped with a machete in sight on the passenger floor, which was ignored as they took my EDC “for our protection” and returned it unloaded! Both are generally considered “tools” and do not pose a problem for law enforcement. However, be very careful with “threatening moves”! Ooh ok thanks yes because I was wondering if it`s legal or not, or if I should give up my blades at the end or if some ballistic knives are explicitly illegal in Florida. The law prohibits you from hiding a knife, except for a regular pocket knife, without a state-issued license to carry a gun or concealed firearm. In the state of Florida, you are free to openly carry any type of legal knife. These include work knives, such as cardboard cutters and others. As long as you don`t openly carry a ballistic knife, you don`t have to worry.

Does this extra mechanical opening make this type of knife something more than a “regular pocket knife”? What applies to knives is a “dirk” within the meaning of the law, which prohibits the carrying of a hidden weapon, any straight knife worn on a person that can cause death, with the exception of a “pocket knife”.  Staat v. Walthour, 876 So.2d 594 (2004). You are not legally bound by the Code of Conduct because you are under the age of 18. That would be quite a debacle, but if you legally challenged the school`s power to reject your rights, you would win. Unlicensed persons may carry a regular hidden pocket knife. Licensed persons may carry hidden knives. Yes, automatic knives are legal in Florida as long as you carry them open.

If you want to hide an automatic knife, you need a hidden weapon, which must be approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Consumer Services. I have a Schrade OTF.comes out of a button press, but you have to press a button to release the blade lock and push back manually if hand.is this is considered an automatic knife or stiletto? Is it illegal to continue driving in Florida? State Law 790.06 requires anyone who wants to hide a legal knife in Florida to apply for a concealed carrying permit. Is an M9 bayonet tiger tooth allowed in public, such as in the holder attached to your belt or pants, is it legal? This item is a stainless steel replica of the M9 bayonet you`ll find in Counterstrike Global Offensive. The item itself is over 35cm long and comes with a sheath to cover the blade when not in use. The knife itself is sharp and serves convenient use. Although it is only intended for collectors. If I have it in my house or say it in my car, should I stop or just walk around with it in the stand? What does all this mean? That means you need to stick to a simple 4-inch pocket knife, multi-tool, or cardboard cutter.

Any other type of knife may be illegal. It looks like law enforcement would spice up the laws, my 18-year-old daughter was driving on 192 in West Melbourne, Florida, and was pulled by a Melbourne Village police officer for a “routine” traffic check and the officer searched his car and found two “common” folding pocket knives. closed it and stopped it for a hidden weapon, one knife was broken and left the blade about 2″ long and the other was a normal blade of 3″. My daughter worked for me in lawn irrigation and used knives as tools, cutting grass and cleaning heads and cutting polynières. The police department attempted to pursue the charges after the knives were told they wanted two years of probation and rehabilitation. It was the first and only time she had come into contact with the law. But Melbourne village police were still looking into the charges. It took a visit to the public defender`s office and two visits to the courts to resolve this case, the case was dismissed by the judge. Now there is a knife that has not been mentioned in this blog, a grapefruit knife is a folding knife and the blade is 6″ long and according to the public defender this knife is not illegal and besides, the only knife that is not legal is a ballistic, a knife that leaves the blade the handle.
