In addition to day-to-day troubleshooting and administrative support, the Office Manager assesses future needs and sets long-term improvement goals, provides on-site IT support, monitors/orders office supplies, and coordinates planning/logistics for regular meetings and events. The Northeast Minnesota Legal Aid Service (LASNEM) provides free legal representation to low-income and elderly citizens in 11 counties with offices in Duluth, Grand Rapids, Virginia, Brainerd and Pine City. LASNEM is an integral part of the judicial system, which is committed to the thesis that equal access to justice is a fundamental human right. In all the cases we deal with, our goal is always to help our clients find sustainable and holistic solutions to the problems they face. To this end, we work closely with community partners in our region. Founded in 1984, the NADSP is a nationally recognized advocacy organization that is at the forefront of defending and promoting the rights of immigrants. Each year, the NADSP provides direct legal representation and immigration support to thousands of low-income individuals from more than 150 countries and speak more than 60 different languages. NWIRP challenges unjust policies through effective litigation and advocates for laws and policies that respect immigrant rights.

The NRDSP is also a reliable provider of community-based immigration-related services for immigrant communities and social service providers. The NRDSP has over 120 employees and an annual budget of over $14 million. NWIRP serves the community through four offices in Washington State (Granger, Seattle, Tacoma, and Wenatchee), but the impact of our work is felt nationally. Work independently and as a team on projects and objectives shared by all NASP operations staff. Provide personal and remote IT support to colleagues through basic maintenance and user support for various computer, voice, imaging and other systems. NWIRP currently works with Google Workspace, LegalServer, Switchvox, Canon Copiers, etc. Physical demands: during the performance of the tasks of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand and walk; Use hands to finger, grasp or feel; grasp with hands and arms; talk and listen; Use a phone, computer, keyboard, pen and paper. They manage electronic cables for a variety of devices. You will need to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis, including placing items on a hand cart (or other assistive device). They move consumables throughout the office and into hanging shelves, using a stepladder if necessary. They will also use assistive devices to move furniture of different sizes and/or coordinate a salesperson moving heavier or larger furniture, as well as to crouch under the furniture to make minor adjustments. Scheduled hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m.

Under current NRDSP COVID guidelines, new employees must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination (unless eligible for an exemption) and wear a face mask in all public areas of the job site. At the time of this assignment, NRDSP employees are primarily working remotely, but from this position, some office work is planned. The Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) is seeking a mission, details and people focused individual to join the organization as a full-time bilingual office manager at the NWIRP office in Tacoma. The candidate must be fluent in English and another language and be able to start the position as soon as possible. From offices in Charlottesville, Richmond, Petersburg and Falls Church, LAJC is a passionate advocate for clients and low-income communities in Virginia. Last year, we permanently lifted Virginia`s driver`s license suspension for judicial debt, obtained an injunction reducing the number of immigrants detained by ICE at the largest detention center in the Mid-Atlantic, and passed a bill giving Virginia oversight authority, obtaining the first COVID-specific workplace safety standards, statewide and enforceable, by passing laws that allow communities to: establish civilian oversight of law enforcement.

The Office Manager works closely with senior counsel in the Tacoma office, the IT Manager, office managers in other NDSP offices and the entire operations unit to ensure that all office systems are operating effectively and efficiently. In this way, the Office Manager provides administrative and back-up computer support to staff and volunteers at the NDRP office in Tacoma. The successful candidate will be a highly qualified interpersonal communicator with a deep appreciation and sensitivity towards people from diverse backgrounds. This role will be based in our Richmond/Petersburg office. Occasional travel between offices is required. The Office Manager organizes and coordinates the management and procedures of the Richmond and Petersburg offices to ensure the efficient operation of the offices. The Office Manager works closely with Senior Counsel to ensure that LAJC offices provide a functional work environment for lawyers, organizers, employees and clients, oversee the client onboarding process and provide administrative support to all departments. This position is based in the Richmond office.
