In 2020 and 2021, many sovereign citizens shared conspiracy theories related to the COVID-19 pandemic, attended anti-mask and anti-vaxxing events, aided or directed businesses that defied COVID-19 health guidelines. Ammon Bundy immediately joined this crusade and organized events in Idaho in early 2020 to actively oppose the state`s directives. He also activated his People`s Rights group to organize protests against COVID-19 health measures and cause riots in various locations in the Northwest. This included the Idaho Statehouse. a health department, a courthouse, a public servant`s home and a hospital where COVID-19 patients were treated. The weapon of choice for sovereign citizens is paper. A simple traffic violation or pet license case can end up causing dozens of court records containing hundreds of pages of pseudo-legal nonsense. For example, Donna Lee Wray — the wife of Jerry Kane, who was half of the team that killed the two police officers in West Memphis, Arkansas, in 2010 — was embroiled in a lengthy legal battle over having to pay dog license fees. She submitted 10 sovereign documents to the court over a two-month period, then declared victory when the beleaguered prosecutor decided to drop the case. The battle was fought for a three-year dog license, which costs just $20 in Pinellas County, Florida, where the monarch lives. There are very different views on the moral basis of sovereignty.
A fundamental polarity exists between theories that claim sovereignty is conferred directly on rulers by divine or natural right, and theories that claim that it comes from the people. In the latter case, there is another division between those who claim that the people transfer their sovereignty to the sovereign (Hobbes), and those who claim that the people retain their sovereignty (Rousseau). [ref. needed] The supreme, absolute and uncontrollable power by which any independent State is governed; the supreme political authority; the supreme will; priority control of the Constitution and the framework of government and its administration; the self-sufficient source of political power, from which all specific political powers come; the international independence of a state, combined with the right and power to manage its internal affairs without foreign diktats; and a political society or a sovereign and independent State. A community of people claiming the right to self-determination on the basis of a common ethnicity, history and culture could attempt to establish sovereignty over a region and thus create a nation-State. These nations are sometimes recognized as self-governing territories rather than fully sovereign and independent states. A July 2014 study by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, which examined perceptions of terrorist threats, found that U.S. law enforcement found that sovereign citizens posed the greatest threat. The Department of Justice views sovereign citizens as a domestic terrorist threat. In a federal system of government, sovereignty also refers to the powers that a constituent state or republic possesses independently of the national government. In a confederation, constituent units retain the right to withdraw from the national body, and the union is often more temporary than a federation.
[41] The size of documents is an issue, as courts that are already flooded are forced to respond to them, but also the absurd language in which documents are written. They have some sort of special sovereign code language that judges, lawyers, and other court employees simply cannot understand (nor can most non-sovereigns). Sovereigns believe that if they find the right combination of words, punctuation, paper, ink color and timing, they can have everything they want: freedom from taxes, unlimited wealth and life without licenses, fees or laws. It is the modern equivalent of “abracadabra”. Thomas Hobbes argued in Leviathan (1651) a conception of sovereignty similar to that of Bodin, who had just obtained legal status in the “Peace of Westphalia”, but for different reasons. He created the first modern version of social contract theory (or contract theory) and argued that to overcome the “bad, brutal and short” quality of life without the cooperation of other people, people must join a “commonwealth” and submit to a “sovereign power” that can force them to act for the common good. This argument of expediency attracted many of the early proponents of sovereignty. Hobbes strengthened the definition of sovereignty beyond the Westphalian or Bodins by saying that it must be: A republic is a form of government in which the people or a substantial part of them retain sovereignty over the government and in which the functions of the state are not conferred by inheritance. [45] [46] A common modern definition of a republic is a government with a head of state who is not a monarch.
[47] [48] In order to exploit the secret account of the Department of Finance, which they believe exists, they submit a series of complex and legal-sounding documents. For decades, leaders have tried to perfect the process by packing and promoting various combinations of forms and paperwork. The only successes touted come from states that have actually committed fraud against government or private companies by creating false or fraudulent and fictitious documents. These sovereigns are persecuted to the full extent of the law. According to sovereign citizen scientists, the government mortgaged its citizens as collateral by selling its future revenue opportunities to foreign investors, thereby enslaving all Americans.
